Call for Hi5 Short Film Competition Submissions

  August 2, 2017

Zimbabwe International Film Festival Trust (ZIFFT) is urging aspiring filmmakers to note the Hi5 Short Film competition’s closing date. The popular competition will close on 22 August for submissions on 17 July, so filmmakers are urged to submit their short documentaries by this date.

A platform for young and emerging film makers to show off their film making craft and skills in coming up with documentary films of five minutes and less, the Hi-5 short film competition is open only to Zimbabwean filmmakers 35 years and younger, who are resident in Zimbabwe.

ZIFFT is convinced that this year’s competition will be more challenging as the number of submissions has steadily been increasing year-to-year.

The winner will receive a camera worth $500 and $500 worth of equipment hire. Second and third place winners will receive $300 and $200 worth of equipment hire respectively. The winners will be announced during the Zambezi Magic Awards Night on 2 September.

The Hi5 Short Film Competition is proudly sponsored by the Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany and MMX Rental.
